candidates who have successfully qualified JEE Advanced are eligible
to appear in Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2016. AAT-2016 is an
architecture entrance exam for admission in diverse undergraduate B.Arch course into IITs. Candidates can apply for this AAT exam through
official website from June 12,2016 to June 13,2016. The entrance exam
will be held on June 15,2016 from 9:00 am to 12 pm.

Application
procedure for AAT 2016
In
order to register for AAT, the students have to-
Step 1
– visit the official website and click on ‘announcements’ and
then click on ‘Candidate portal’.
Step 2
– Then enter the details such as registration number, date of
birth, security pin.
Step 3
– After entering all the details, candidates have to click on the
‘submit button’.
Exam
Pattern
The
AAT exam will consist of one paper which will be of three hours –
from 9 am to 12 pm. The test will be in English language only.
Syllabus
For AAT 2016
The
syllabus for AAT 2016 consists of questions from the topics listed
below:
Freehand
drawing – This section comprise of simple drawing depicting the
total object in its right form and proportion, relative location,
surface texture, and details of its component parts in appropriate
scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like
furniture, equipment, etc from memory.
Geometrical
drawing- In this section, there will be exercises on geometrical
drawing containing lines, angles,circles, polygons, quadrilaterals,
triangles etc. Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side
views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, etc.
Three
dimensional perception – This includes understanding and
appreciation of three dimensional forms with building elements,
color, volume and orientation. Visualization of structuring objects
in memory.
Imagination
and aesthetic sensitivity- This comprises of composition exercise of
given elements and context mapping. Creativity check through
innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of color
grouping or application.
Architectural
awareness- This section includes general interest and awareness of
famous architectural creations- both national and international,
places and personalities (architects, designers, etc) in the related
domain.
