Students who took NEET 2016 Phase 1 can also apply for Phase 2

Students who took NEET 2016 Phase 1 can also apply for Phase 2

The Supreme Court has already declared that National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 would be the only way for medical candidates to get admission in MBBS or BDS courses across India. After the Supreme Court order, NEET is the country's sole medical entrance exam through which   all medical colleges, government institutions, private colleges and minority institutions will admit students. As per the Apex Court order, the CBSE pre-medical test given by candidates will be consider as the first phase of NEET. The second phase is scheduled for July 24, 2016. Candidates who did not take the May 1, 2016 examination too can sit for it. This two-phase system is only for this year; next year onward, there will be only one examination.

Can students who appeared for NEET I appear for NEET II?

Supreme court had initially said NEET 2 would be for students who had not appeared for NEET 1 exam. Now, the bench of Supreme Court subsequently revised their stand, and said that any of the approximately 6.25 lakh students who had taken NEET 1 of the exam could, if they wished, sit for NEET 2 as well — however, their score for NEET phase I would not, then, be valid.
