The India ranking 2016 has been released by HRD minister Smriti Irani on Monday at Vigyan Bhawan. According to sources and reports, this is the first-of-its-kind indigenous ranking framework for higher education colleges and institutions, which has come out with a list of top 100 universities and colleges of engineering, management and pharmacy in the country. Apart from these streams, there are several other streams that are popular among the students like Commerce, Arts, Design, Fashion, BCA, Fine Arts, Law, Hotel Management and Education. 
 
Among all these streams, Commerce has increasingly come to be the most sought after academic stream in India. Rapid Industrialization and fast growth of the economy sector has opened up a wide number of avenues and opportunities for the candidates with commerce background. As the Indian Economy is growing very fast and changing very rapidly, there is requirement for talented experts who can contribute towards the growth of Indian Economy.

There are more than 11,000 colleges and 250 universities all across India. The Commerce field mainly consists of Finance, Accounting, E-Commerce, Economics and Business Administration. Among these more than 6,000 Commerce colleges in India provide the students with the scope to gather knowledge in various fields like Trade and Business, Market Policies and Fluctuations, Business Administration, Statics, Marketing, Economics, Industrial And Fiscal Policies, Accountancy, Finance etc.

Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi was established in 1920 and started undergraduate degrees in 1932 and graduate degrees in 1948. SRCC is one of the first Commerce and Economics institutes of India. The institute received its present name and form in 1951. It started an International Business MBA equivalent course in 1999, called the Post Graduate Diploma in Global Business Operations.




Established in 1956, Lady Shri Ram College for Women is a center for academic excellence and achievement. It is recognized as a premier institution of higher learning for women in India. Professional courses like Elementary Education and Journalism are the strengths of this institute. The institute offers courses like Social Sciences, Humanities and Commerce, while also offering a B.Sc. Programme in Statistics.




Christ University, Bangalore, formerly Christ College (Autonomous) affiliated to Bangalore University was established in July, 1969. It is a premier educational institute of Bangalore.




Loyola College is a Catholic Minority Institution, was founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1925. The primary objective is to provide University Education in a Christian atmosphere for deserving candidates irrespective of caste and creed.



Hans Raj College, New Delhi was established in 1954. It is a premier college, with highly qualified academicians imparting education in several fields. The college today enjoys its reputation for outstanding performance in sports, academics and extra-curricular activities.




Hindu College, New Delh was established in 1899 by Late Shri Krishan Dassji Gurwale. The college boasts more than 2,000 students and an accomplished faculty of about 120 members. The institute offers a number of courses in the Sciences, Humanities and the Social Science streams.



The institute was established in 1964 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM). It is a professionally managed trust with a large number of valued academic institutions.



It is an autonomous institute managed by the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society (BJES). The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in commerce and business streams.




Madras Christian College (MCC), Chennai established in 1837, as a School in the black town of Madras. It is known for its academic standing and leadership building. Today, the institute has more than 5,000 students and over 220 faculty members serving in 31 departments.




Symbiosis College of Arts & Commerce (SCAC), Pune was established in 1983. The institute has students from across the length and breadth of the country as also the world.
