You
are like to leave your home to begin your first semester as student
at the best college or university of India. Preparing as a student
and to leave for your dream college is not an easy task. But this is
an exciting chapter of your life; you will experience new things and
be on your own for, possibly, first time. There are many wonderful
adventures awaiting you, challenging courses to be taken, new
friends to be made and so on... But first…what should you pack in
your bags?
Preparing
a student to leave for a university or college is no easy task, and
your to-do list can get intimidatingly long. It may seen like a
daunting task. Don't worry we are here to help you. These are some of
the essentials to consider when packing for college.
Finances
and Documents
These
are the first and most important thing that you’ll need to take
with you. Check many times that you have your 10th,
12th
and other educational documents with you before leaving ! Make sure
you have the contact number of your dream college and just in case,
make photocopies of all important documents and keep them separate
from the originals.
Electronic
Gadgets
Laptop,
tablet, music player, and mobile phone - these are the basic
electronics that you should bring with them to college to help you
stay in touch with family. Always pack your electronics in hand bag.
Medicines
Contact
to your college and find out whether medicines and vitamins are
easily available or not. Take a supply of some basic medicines with
you but make sure you have doctor's prescription for what you pack.
Clothes
Pack
mostly formal clothing as in India most of the colleges or
universities allows formal wear for freshers. If you are a student of
any engineering, law, medical or management students, it is necessary
for you to wear formal as a fresher student. Don't forget to include
some traditional outfitting. It’s a great opportunity to share your
traditions and culture with new friends in your home away from home!
ATM
Card / VISA Checkcard

ATM
machines are everywhere and they're the best way to get currency. The
best thing about ATM cards are they can operate in any bank ATM. It
is good thing rather than cash. Managing the cash is more challenging
if you are going for stay in hostel.
Pack
light and ready to go
If
you follow only one of our suggestions, let this be it. We've seen
far too many travelers stumbling under the excess baggage weight.
Items that you're considering don't have multiple purposes or "just
in case", should be left at home. We can't say this one enough,
so we'll repeat ourselves: Pack light.
So
happy packing and CollegeScan wishes you good luck in this next
journey of your life!
