Graduate aptitude Test in Engineering is an all India based entrance examination for admitting students to various M.Tech, ME, MS and P.hd courses in higher educational institutes of India. The primarily focus of this entrance exam is to test the in-depth knowledge of candidates pertaining to their under-graduate program.
The exam has been conducted since 1984 for admission in several post-graduate programs and has seen many changes over a period of time. As new changes were introduced in 2016, a few more additional changes will be implemented in GATE 2017. These changes are as follows-

The main motto for conducting GATE 2017 in these locations is to attract different nationalities to widen the horizons of an academic environment. The website states, “ A foreign student brings with him/her a great diversity, culture and wisdom to share. Many GATE qualified candidates are paid scholarships/assistantship, especially funded by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India and by other Ministries”.
